Per the advice of one of my favorite comedians, Doug Benson, I had my first McDonald's McGriddles experience yesterday, and here's my two cents.

The Positive:

1. The flavors work well together. I mean, what could go wrong with a syrup-infused bun made out of pancake batter?
2. The savory egg and cheese did a good job balancing the sweet of each McGriddle.
3. The sandwich seemed more portable than an egg and cheese biscuit. I wasn't worried about crumbs falling and leaving oil stains on a nice shirt or tie.

The Negative:

1. The McGriddle buns were cold. (I'll chalk this up to the fact that I ordered this at 10:26 AM, four minutes before the breakfast cut-off.)
2. As you can see from the photo, the bun was smushed just a tad.

Verdict:

According to food scientists, there is an optimal combination of ingredients that makes food highly palatable - sugar, salt, fat, flavor, and texture - and delicious. McGriddles packs a hyper-palatable punch using sweet and savory flavors combined with a pancake bun you can't get anywhere but McDonald's.

"Resistance is futile!"

Ruby LOVES Colbert’s Americone Dream!

Dogs love ice cream; however, Ruby cannot get enough of Stephen Colbert’s Americone Dream. She is a fan of Colbert (loves the commentary, but can do without the Bear Hatred). But when I let her have the remnants of a pint of his Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, she became a ravenous maniac! Photo Below: Technorati Tags: Americone Dream , Colbert , Ben & Jerry , Atlanta

Meet Ruby Klein Baer.

This is Ruby, our lab-kangaroo mix dog.  She came to us from the Fulton County Animal Shelter in 2005. She loves to eat anything resembling food, and she’s been known to eat eyeglasses, markers, latex gloves, and the occasional notepad.  No worries, though, because she has a stomach of iron and a colon of steel!
